| RPNY Spotlights... Lee Sheridan by K. Peddlar Bridges Lee Sheridan is The New York / Long Island State Publisher/Editor of Full Throttle Magazine`s New York/New England Edition ... To us Lee Sheridan is not only the Publisher/Editor of the New York/New England Edition of Full Throttle Magazine, but also the New York Edition`s ... House Poet. We at RoadPoet are always excited and greatful whenever we find a fellow Motorcycle Publication that publishes Bikerpoetry and has its own House Poet. Sheridan, a Native New Yorker, says that she began writing poetry at age 11, has studied Piano and written music lyrics. Her work has not only been published in the New York Edition of Full Throttle Magazine, but has been requested by and published by other Full Throttle Magazine Editors throughout the Country. She has also had her work published in Easy Rider Magazine and has written an afterword for an 'Extraordinary' Motorcycle Art Book showcasing nearly 400 color photographs of 'Amazing' Art work done by 50 of the World`s 'most talented' Motorcycle Painters. Lee Sheridan`s Poetry goal for 2006 is to see her work in a book of poetry. Now that we have answered 'the unasked question,' does she write? We can now ask and answer the next important question, 'Does she ride?' The answer is YES ... She does ride! Lee has a 1973 Harley-Davidson Ironhead Sportster that her husband, Greg Sheridan, built for her from the ground up. We wish Lee Sheridan best miles and verses in the future and happy publishing in the New Year! |
THE SPIRIT OF NEW YORK - by Lee Sheridan
The sun was bright and the sky was clear, The devil was in the clouds, he had taken flight. The sky was burning; I thought the end was near, Then the inconceivable happened my eyes couldn`t believe All those who were lost we can never replace The light that shines in us all was dimmed that dark day Not only for ourselves, but for the many others As time goes on and we move ahead It only a warning could have awoken our soul Faces I see on the street, I looked through each day 9-11-01 has become part of our history We look towards our future and our children`s as well The skyline has been altered and will never look the same |
